Support for life's hardest seasons.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting adults and families through some of life's most difficult and uncertain seasons.
My path to private practice has been shaped by years of clinical work in complex and high-stakes settings. Those experiences have taught me the importance of meeting people with both clinical skill and genuine compassion, and have deeply shaped the steady, thoughtful way I approach therapy today.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based practice. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the dignity and worth of each person. I consider it a profound privilege to be invited into the parts of your story that may feel deeply personal, vulnerable, or difficult to share, and I approach that trust with great care.
I believe meaningful change often begins with slowing down, making sense of our emotions, and developing a deeper understanding of the patterns that shape how we experience ourselves and our relationships.
My work is informed by Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), an attachment-based, experiential approach that emphasizes emotion, connection, and the patterns that can contribute to feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, uncertain, or alone. I also incorporate cognitive and behavioral strategies that offer practical ways to understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and support meaningful change.
More broadly, my approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and attentive to the ways our experiences can affect both mind and body. My hope is that our work together supports meaningful relief, greater self-understanding and compassion, and a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with what matters most to you.
My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and informs the compassion, hope, and dignity I strive to bring to my work.
I work with clients of all backgrounds and beliefs. For those who desire it, Christian faith and spirituality can be thoughtfully integrated into our work together. Whether faith is central to your life, something you're questioning, or not part of your life at all, my goal is to create a space where your values, beliefs, and experiences are met with compassion and respect.
My Clinical Background
Faith & Therapy
Before entering private practice, I worked extensively in hospital and medical settings, providing psychosocial assessment, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation. I worked alongside physicians, nurses, and other professionals to support patients and families navigating complex medical and emotional circumstances.
My experience includes supporting individuals and families through trauma and crisis, anxiety and depression, new or life-changing diagnoses, serious illness and end-of-life care, grief and loss, as well as specialized work in cognitive health and caregiver support. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how profoundly difficult experiences, loss, and major life transitions can affect our emotions, relationships, sense of identity, and understanding of what comes next.
Education, Training, & Research
I earned my Master of Social Work from San Jose State University, with a concentration in aging and a certificate in gerontology. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, with minors in gerontology and comparative religious studies.
Beyond clinical practice, my experience includes teaching and community education about grief and loss, as well as research and academic work in the field of aging. I have taught social work courses at the university level and contributed to research and curriculum development focused on aging and health.
These experiences continue to inform the way I think about therapy: with curiosity, depth, and an appreciation for the many factors that shape a person's experience.

Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you're already carrying a lot.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. My hope is that therapy can become a steady place to slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what you're carrying.
If you're considering therapy, I invite you to reach out for a brief consultation to see whether we might be a good fit.
